Its no secret Master Bedrooms are one of my favourite spaces to style.
I think its a really important space to pay attention too. People often say “WHY” “No one goes in my bedroom” But I believe We don’t create feel good spaces for others in our homes we should be creating them for ourselves. Its about the lifestyle we want to create and what suits us. Layering is the key. Fold the quilt back, use a quilt the next size up from your mattress and always use lots of pillows and cushions.
Always use a throw in a contrasting colour to the Linen. White Valances always look fresh and consider if you need storage for in your bedsides or not. If not you can go for some funky side tables instead.
A Bed head is your first decision. Padded, Timber, Leather, Wicker or no bedhead. This particular one I have over scaled. This has saved on artwork as it has doubled as both. Consider pattern or texture on the bedhead carefully. A neutral colour is usually best something that wont limit your linen choices. Charcoals, greys and taupe’s are my favourites to use.
If you have space for a chair or an ottoman go for it. They can be very functional as well as look great. Consider lamps or pendants and get the scale right. Everything needs to be in proportion. Window treatments are another thing to consider. Neutral fabrics always work best and drapes or Sheers make a bedroom feel really luxurious and warm.
